LAW 991

Selected Topics in Election Law

Selected Topics in Election Law considers issues in election law that, because of time, cannot get full treatment in the normal Election Law course. Topics will be chosen each year based upon those election law issues which were salient in the last election period. For 2024, for example, topics likely would include potential presidential disqualification under Section 3 the Fourteenth Amendment, issues of ballot access for third party and minor
party candidates, campaign finance issues surrounding the role of leadership PACs and Super PACs, and the relationship between presidential immunity and election interference allegations.
Taking the normal election law course is neither a prerequisite for this class nor does it preclude taking this course as well
