UCLA Law is proud of the depth and breadth of the careers and interests pursued by our students prior to law school. Our students have excelled in almost every industry. The following is just a sampling of some of the outstanding pre-law school accomplishments of the class of 2019.

The class includes five student body or student government presidents, the editor-in-chief of the Daily Bruin, two editors-in-chief of undergraduate law journals, two Fulbright winners, a university homecoming king, and an undefeated JEOPARDY! Back to School Week Champion.

BusinessA number of students are entrepreneurs who have started their own businesses. The class also includes professionals from the real estate, management consulting, and wealth management industries.

Arts & Entertainment The incoming class has a wealth of experience in the art, entertainment and media industries and includes print and television journalists and reporters, a professional violist, a music agent, an award-winning screen writer, director and producer, an associate producer for two major news channels, and numerous instrumentalists and professional level dancers.

Government Students in the Class of 2019 have worked or interned for The White House, The Supreme Court of the United States, the Central Intelligence Agency, the U.S. Department of Justice, the Federal Reserve Board, the Environmental Protection Agency, Peace Corps, and for numerous U.S. Senators, U.S. Representatives and candidates for elected office. The class also includes U.S. Army veterans, one of whom is a U.S. Army Captain who led over 150 combat missions in Afghanistan, and a fighter pilot for the U.S. Air Force.

Public Service Students are passionate about a variety of issues and have worked or volunteered for organizations like the American Civil Liberties Union, the Natural Resources Defense Council, Greenpeace, Human Rights Watch, the International Rescue Committee, Public Council, Teach for America and Habitat for Humanity to name only a few.

Athletics The class includes competitive athletes in the sports of ice hockey, swimming, diving, rugby, baseball, tennis, football, basketball, track and field, cross country, soccer, crew, volleyball, surfing and figure skating, as well as a baseball operations manager for a Major League Baseball team.

Bar Passage Rate For The Class Of 2015Approximately 85.4% of the UCLA Law graduates who took the July 2015 California Bar Exam for the first time passed the examination. The statewide bar passage rate average for first-time test takers was 59.7%. For UCLA Law graduates taking the July 2015 New York Bar Exam, the passage rate was an astounding 100% for first-time test takers.
