J.D. Student Ambassador: Ana Siqueira

Ana Siqueira

Hi everyone! My name is Ana Siqueira and I am a third-year student at UCLA Law. I was born and raised in Porto Alegre, Brazil. My first experience living in the U.S. was in 2016 when I spent six months living in Louisiana for a high school exchange program. I graduated high school in Brazil in 2017 and moved to Tallahassee, Florida in 2018 to attend Florida State University. I graduated from Florida State University in 2022 summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in political science and economics.

As someone who went to law school right after graduating from undergrad, I was unsure of what career path I wanted to pursue. UCLA’s robust curriculum, variety of specializations, and all-around outstanding faculty assured me that I would receive a top-notch education and have the best opportunities regardless of which path I chose to pursue, which made UCLA Law a perfect fit for me. My economics background, experience working at the Innocence Project of Florida, and status as an international student led me to enroll in three specializations at UCLA Law: Business Law & Policy, International & Comparative Law, and Critical Race Studies. I look forward to exploring these specializations’ electives during my second year at UCLA Law!

My extracurricular involvement at UCLA Law includes serving as an ambassador for the Admissions Office, a staff editor for the UCLA Law Review, the secretary for the Latinx Law Students Association, and a staff editor for the Criminal Justice Law Review. During my 1L summer, I worked as a summer associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP in Los Angeles. During my 2L summer, I will be returning to Simpson Thacher as a Conrad Harper 2L Diversity Fellow, working mainly with their credit, mergers & acquisitions, and funds practice groups.

Attending UCLA Law is one of the best decisions I have ever made. We have a vibrant and kind community here, which coupled with our academic strength and professional opportunities makes UCLA Law a one-of-a-kind school. I am happy to answer any questions about my experience at UCLA Law, living in graduate housing, moving to Los Angeles, and attending law school as an international student!
