J.D. Student Ambassador: Cat Washington

Cat WashingtonMy name is Cat Washington (she/her/hers), and I am a 2L at UCLA Law specializing in Public Interest Law & Policy and International & Comparative Law. I'm originally from El Paso, Texas, and chose to attend UCLA Law based on the expansive human rights and international law course offerings. On campus, I am the Clinics President of the International & Human Rights Law Association, the Editor-in-Chief of Voices of Promise, a Student-Run Human Rights Blog, and a member of OUTLaw. This past summer, I spent the majority of my time working with Professor Peake and several organizations to conduct an open-source investigation on a specific human rights context, work I am now continuing through an independent study project. I also worked part time with the Armenian Genocide Looted Art Research Project (AGLARP) researching potentially looted art in the United States, and spent a week in Armenia on a human rights fact-finding trip as part of the Promise Institute-UNHR fellowship. In my free time, I take care of my nearly 50 plants, my cat (named Friday), and practice lyra & aerial silks!
