"On multiple occasions I have had the joy of recruiting a rising 2L from UCLA School of Law, working side-by-side with her, and then celebrating her election to the Paul Hastings partnership. For decades UCLA School of Law graduates have filled important leadership roles, including managing partner, in our firm. I look forward to meeting the next generation of leaders when interviews begin."

  • Post a Job

The following services for posting positions for law students or attorneys are free of charge.

Create an account on Symplicity, our Job Posting Site.

This is a great way to attract UCLA School of Law candidates, both students and alumni, by tailoring your job posting to your exact needs. Establishing a Symplicity account enables you to post a position, update your post, and receive and manage resumes and other application materials. This is our recommended posting method, as you can control your post and it will appear for candidates.

If you have questions or would like assistance, feel free to email careers@law.ucla.edu or call 310.206.1117.

For paralegal or assistant positions, please consider posting on the UCLA Career Center's Handshake

  • Summer Judicial Externship Fellowship

UCLA Law has established a summer Judicial Externship Fellowship Program. Through this program, every UCLA first-year law student who secures a full-time summer externship of at least eight weeks with a judge in a federal court (circuit, district, magistrate, bankruptcy or tax court) or in a state’s highest court (i.e., the Supreme Court of California or its equivalent) receives funding support from the school.

Working as a judicial extern offers an unparalleled experience for law students, and for many years we have encouraged our students to take advantage of these excellent opportunities. While approximately 20% of each first-year class historically has worked in judicial chambers during the summer, some students are not in a position to pursue these positions in the absence of funding support. Our Judicial Externship Fellowship Program enables all students who are interested in a summer judicial externship to pursue such an opportunity, creating an even stronger and more diverse pool of candidates.

If you have an interest in receiving UCLA Law applications, please contact Dylan McGrath. Please also feel free to pass this information along to colleagues who also may be interested in UCLA externs.

  • Participate in New Graduate Initiatives

UCLA Law has several programs to help new graduates gain meaningful legal experience while also helping employers address unmet needs.

    Public Service Fellowship Program

UCLA Law’s Public Service Fellowship Program seeks to support graduating students who have demonstrated a longstanding commitment to public service, enabling them to work with a variety of nonprofit organizations and government agencies, both domestically and abroad. Please contact Andrew Whitcup for more information.

    New Graduate Opportunity Program

The New Graduate Opportunity Program funds part-time, temporary work with nonprofit organizations and government agencies. Please contact Gary Greener and Catherine Zingale for more information.

    Apprentice Associate Program

This program is geared towards boutique and mid-sized law firms that do not typically hire recent graduates. Participating firms hire at least one recent UCLA Law graduate to work as an apprentice associate for a one-year term. Contact Assistant Dean of Career Services Elizabeth Moeller for more information.
