Energy Law and Policy Project Director for the Emmett Institute on Climate Change and the Environment
Denise Grab is the Energy Law and Policy Project Director for the Emmett Institute on Climate Change and the Environment at UCLA School of Law. In this role, she will build out new initiatives to support the regulatory transition to a clean energy future in California and beyond.
Before joining the Emmett Institute, Denise served as a Principal at the clean energy nonprofit RMI (formerly known as the Rocky Mountain Institute), where she led initiatives on building electrification policy, helping to secure cutting-edge all-electric building codes in dozens of cities and states across the country, as well as the nation’s first zero-emissions standards for building appliances.
Denise previously acted as the Western Regional Director at the Institute for Policy Integrity at New York University School of Law, where she also taught as an Adjunct Professor of Law. In this role, Denise built deep relationships and expertise navigating the regulatory process in state and federal agencies, including state public utilities commissions and FERC.
