James B. (Jim) Curtis

Lecturer in Law

James B. (Jim) Curtis, has served as a Lecturer in Law at UCLA School of Law since 2021. Curtis teaches Contracts for Foreign Lawyers and Contract Law: Analysis and Application. Curtis previously worked as Senior Vice President and Senior Counsel at Bank of the West, now part of BMO, serving as the bank's primary contracts attorney for 22 years. Curtis was awarded the Almon McCallum Award in 2015 by the California Bankers Association, a division of the Western Bankers Association. Curtis was awarded the Distinguished Instructor Award by UCLA Extension in 2012. Curtis received his B.A. degree with High Honors at Eastern Illinois University, and his J.D. degree at the University of Southern California Gould School of Law.
