Lecturer in Law
Jessica Baril teaches Legal Research and Writing at UCLA School of Law. Before joining the faculty, Ms. Baril practiced at Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP, where she specialized in complex commercial litigation in federal and state court. Ms. Baril’s pro bono practice focused on enforcing state constitutional standards for public education and fighting the diversion of resources from public schools.
Ms. Baril received her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania, summa cum laude, and a Masters of Education Degree from UCLA, summa cum laude. Ms. Baril received her J.D. from Yale Law School, where she served as an articles editor of the Yale Law Journal and the Yale Law & Policy Review. In law school, Ms. Baril also served as a student director for the Yale Supreme Court Advocacy Clinic. Following law school, Ms. Baril clerked for the Honorable Kim McLane Wardlaw of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
