Jonathan is Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer of Mattel, Inc., where he oversees the legal affairs for Mattel's toy, gaming, film and television businesses. Previously, Jonathan was Executive Vice President General Counsel of ViacomCBS Media Networks, where he managed the legal affairs and standards and practices functions for the CBS Television Network and the ViacomCBS cable networks, including Showtime, MTV, VH1, BET, Nickelodeon and Comedy Central. Prior to the 2019 merger of CBS and Viacom, Jonathan was the General Counsel of CBS Television and the Deputy General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of CBS Corporation. Before he joined CBS, Jonathan was a partner in a Los Angeles-based litigation firm, where he maintained a trial and appellate practice with particular emphasis on entertainment and media-related matters. He is the chair of the board of directors of Public Counsel, the nation's largest pro bono law firm, and is a member of the board of directors of the Media Law Resource Center. Originally from Canada, Jonathan received his BA and JD from the University of Toronto.
