Sande Buhai

Visiting Professor

Sande Buhai is a Visiting Professor at UCLA School of Law and will teach Professional Responsibility. She is a full-time faculty member at Loyola law School in Los Angeles where she teaches courses on Professional Responsibility, Appellate Advocacy and Privacy Torts, among many others. Her research interests include Professional Responsibility, Disability Rights, Civil Rights and Animal Law. Her previous experience includes working as the Executive Director of a non-profit Disability Rights organization and as a Deputy Attorney General for the State of California. She is a past chair of the AALS Section on Pro Bono and Public Service and the Chair Elect of the AALS Section on Professional Responsibility.

She received her BA from UCLA and her J.D. from Loyola Law School, cum laude. She was a Note and Comment Editor of the International and Comparative Law Review and participated in the Scoot Moot Court Competition. After law school, she clerked for Judge Irving Shimer in the California Superior Court.

Professor Buhai has published many articles in Law Reviews, including the Georgetown Journal of Legal Ethics, Minnesota Law Review, and Georgia Law Review. Her most recent article concerning Professional Malpractice is in the St. John’s Law Review.
