Alarm at Credible Reports of Civilian Casualties in Artsakh/Karabakh

October 3, 2020

Dear friends and colleagues,

The Promise Institute for Human Rights is alarmed at credible reports of civilian casualties in Artsakh/Karabakh, as detailed in the report of the Artsakh/Karabakh Human Rights Ombudsman, and urges respect for international human rights and humanitarian law. We reiterate our firm belief that diplomacy is the only path for peace and stability in the region, see our earlier statement. We join the United Nations Security Council and the OSCE-Minsk group in calling for a ceasefire as a first step towards a peaceful resolution of the conflict.
