The Information Policy Lab

Engage directly on emerging public policy questions at the intersection of law and technology through a combination of research, writing, and interaction with stakeholders on the front lines of global regulation debates concerning new technologies.

  • In 2024, the Lab is focusing on the emerging challenges of extended realities (XR, including augmented, virtual and mixed realities) and the security and regulatory implications that immersive, remote and computer generated or manipulated environments produce.

Check out the Spring 2024 Information Policy Lab syllabus here, and some of the publications resulting from the Spring 2024 Lab here.

  • Launched in 2023, the Lab produced its inaugural publication, Sustaining Journalism, Sustaining Democracy — A Policy Guide on Platforms and the Press, which became a valuable resource for the development of the California Journalism Protection Act.
