Law and Economics draws core ideas from economics, philosophy and public policy to develop laws that apply to society with the greatest possible efficiency and fairness.

UCLA School of Law has a rich tradition in law and economics, and has served as the academic home of many pioneers in the field. The school's Center for Law and Economics fosters academic scholarship that explores how economic concepts can help to improve laws and shape policy. Faculty members include leading scholars on economics, legal philosophy and taxation.
