Andrea Hartman

Lecturer in Law

Andrea R. Hartman is an attorney with many years experience in the corporate world. From 1994 through 2012, Ms. Hartman worked in-house at NBCUniversal. She served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel, NBCUniversal Television Entertainment, where she led a team of 40 lawyers supporting the entertainment division of NBC, NBCUniversal’s cable entertainment networks, and its broadcast and cable television studios.  Before joining NBC, Ms. Hartman was a litigation partner with the law firm of Irell & Manella in Los Angeles, where she began her legal career as an associate.

Ms. Hartman received her Juris Doctor degree cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1984. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History with highest honors from the University of California at Berkeley in 1981.

She currently serves in a volunteer position as Senior Law & Policy Advisor for The Civics Center, a non-partisan nonprofit organization founded in 2018 to focus on improving high school voter registration rates nationwide. In addition, she serves on the Board of the Riviera Tennis Foundation, which supports and provides tennis opportunities and training for underserved youth in Los Angeles.
