End the Rape Statute of Limitation in California - #EndrapeSOL

#EndrapeSOL is a grassroots campaign to end the 10-year statute of limitations on rape and sexual assault in California, so that adult survivors of sexual violence can report the crime whenever they are able. It often takes years for victims to come forward due to fear, trauma, shame, and stigma. Portia Karegeya, Sonke Health and Human Rights Fellow (2015), has undertaken research comparing civil and criminal statutes of limitations in. U.S. states, so as to inform the California campaign. She is also analyzing the policy implications for abolishing statutes of limitations for adult survivors of rape and other forms of sexual victimization.
