Significant scholarships are available for the inaugural August 2020 class. There are two scholarships available:
Bruin Scholarship: Partial scholarships will be awarded to admitted students who demonstrate outstanding academic merit and/or professional accomplishment. There is no need to apply specifically for this scholarship; all applicants will be considered automatically and recipients will be notified.
The UCLA School of Law has the goal of making legal education accessible to all qualified students regardless of financial status. Federal student loans are available for admitted students. However, if personal circumstances would make it unusually difficult for you to finance the cost associated with earning an MLS degree, we invite you to submit a one-page statement of need directly to the MLS office, which will be taken into account when you are considered for a Bruin Scholarship.
Public Interest Scholarship: Scholarships are also available to admitted students who demonstrate: (1) A history of engagement in areas of public interest, such as (but not limited to) poverty, civil rights, human rights, public health, immigration, criminal justice, housing, or the environment; and (2) a commitment to achieving lasting change that transforms people’s lives through work in the non-profit or government sectors of the economy.
M.L.S. students are also eligible to apply for student loans from the federal government to cover tuition and living expenses. To determine your eligibility, complete a government form called the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) as soon as possible after you are admitted to the program. Request that a copy of the FAFSA be released to UCLA by indicating our school code: 001315.
For more information on federal student loan programs, please see the detailed financial aid information under J.D. Admissions.
Private loans may also be available through third party sources.
