Our mission is to increase access to abortion and contraception, end racial and economic disparities in maternal health outcomes, support people who decide to build families, and dismantle the gender bias that limits reproductive justice.

Serving Communities, Developing Pro Bono Leaders

American law schools typically focus on the "front end" of the criminal justice process: investigation, prosecution, and verdict. But for these offenders convicted of crimes, the trial process is only the preamble to an extended period in the custody of the state.

The Williams Institute was founded in 2001 by businessman and philanthropist Charles Williams and scholars at UCLA School of Law, with the aim of replacing the pervasive bias against LGBT people in law, policy, and culture with objective, empirical research on LGBT issues. A unique partnership of UCLA Law and the RAND Corporation, the Center supports collaborative research promotes legal and policy research grounded in multidisciplinary empirical analysis to guide legal and public policymakers in the 21st century. 

Founded in 2020, the Miñana Family Center for Immigration Law and Policy at the UCLA School of Law expands the law school’s role as a national leader in immigration law and policy. The Miñana Center generates innovative ideas at the intersection of immigration scholarship and practice; serves as a hub for transforming those ideas into meaningful changes in immigration policy at the local, state, and national level; and empowers students with unique opportunities for experiential learning through work with academics, practitioners, policymakers, and activists.

The Promise Institute for Human Rights at UCLA provides a premier legal education in universal human rights, empowering the next generation of lawyers, scholars and advocates for impactful careers. We serve as an intellectual hub for innovative and inclusive knowledge generation through our two locations in LA and in the Netherlands. We connect people across borders and cultures through a common mission to promote universal human rights for all.

Through its publications, courses, clinic and events, the Resnick Center affords students valuable scholarship, research and networking opportunities.Students can also gain unique policy advocacy training within the food justice movement through UCLA Law’s clinical education curriculum.
