UCLA Law was one of the first schools in the nation to offer students a systematic focus on business law, and it has expanded its focus on the law of taxation, rising to rank among the premier academic centers in these pivotal areas of policy and practice.
Centered in the Lowell Milken Institute for Business Law and Policy, and conducted with the Ziman Center for Real Estate and the Center for Law and Economics, our multifaceted approach combines traditional classes in legal doctrine and theory; experiential offerings that simulate real-world negotiations involving business-law attorneys and their clients; and programs featuring eminent executives, attorneys and policymakers.
Working closely with top professors in taxation, corporate law, bankruptcy, securities regulation, mergers and acquisitions, finance and commercial law – and with mentorship from several of the many alumni who have succeeded at the highest levels of business and philanthropy – students gain vital tools that propel them to careers as supremely accomplished attorneys.
